Fluoroselenic acid

Selenium trioxide is made by dehydration of H2Se04 by P205 at 150 to 160°C it is a strong oxidant and is rapidly rehydrated by water. Selenium trioxide dissolves in liquid HF to give fluoroselenic acid, FSe03H, a viscous fuming liquid. [Pg.522]

SeOjFj (mp -99°C, bp -8.4°C) is still best prepared from BaSe04 and fluoroselenic acid (64). It is a starting material for derivatives of fluoroselenic acid, shown in Table XXI. Fluoroselenates with the structure FaAsCOSeOaOAsFlnOSeOjF and related compounds are obtained in reactions of AsFs and SeOj (189). [Pg.218]
