Fluoranthenes—

For a single-point external standard, the relationship between the signal, S, and the concentration, C, of fluoranthene is... [Pg.588]

Using this value for k and the signal obtained for the extracted and diluted soil sample gives a fluoranthene concentration of... [Pg.588]

This, of course, is the concentration of fluoranthene in the sample injected into the HPLC. The concentration of fluoranthene in the soil is... [Pg.588]

The limits of lifetime detection and resolution in on-the-flight fluorescence lifetime detection in hplc were evaluated for simple, binary systems of polycycHc hydrocarbons (70). Peak homogeneity owing to coelution was clearly indicated for two compounds having fluorescence lifetime ratios as small as 1.2 and the individual peaks could be recovered using predeterrnined lifetimes of the compounds. Limits of lifetime detection were deterrnined to be 6 and 0.3 pmol for benzo[b]fluoranthene and benzo[k]fluoranthene, respectively. [Pg.245]

Fluoranthene (ben2o[/,A ]fluorene) [206-44-0] M 202.3, m 110-111°. Purified by chromatography of CCI4 solns on alumina, with benzene as eluent. Crystd from EtOH, MeOH or benzene. Purified by zone melting. [Gorman et al. J Am Chem Soc 107 4404 1985.]... [Pg.243]

An older procedure based upon the thermally induced decarboxylation of sodium chlorodifluoroacetate in the presence of triphenylphosphine was used to introduce the difluoromethylene group into a substituted benzo[h]fluoranthene [48] (equation 46)... [Pg.583]
