Fingerprinting of Uranium Ores

As mentioned in Chapters 1 and 2, uranium is present in a large variety of minerals and its commercial production is carried out from rich ores that contain several percent of uranium to poor minerals that may include only a few hundred [Pg.248]

One of the first studies that characterized fine differences in the uranium isotopic composition in ore samples from various locations used a quadrupole mass spectrometer with a gas inlet to measnre the 235u/238pj jj, TIMS [Pg.249]

The slight variations in isotopic ratios have been attributed to differ- [Pg.249]

The same sample treatment method (dissolution in 8 M HNO3 and 0.1 M HE at 90°C) was used for the determination of REEs in uranium-bearing materials by ICP-SF-MS (Varga et al. 2010a). The concentration of the REEs was determined directly after dissolution and then after purification and preconcentration on a TRU chromatographic resin. The quantitative results were quite similar, but the limit of [Pg.250]
