Filler drying agents

Suitable quaternary ammonium compounds are poly(diallyleth-ylamine hydrochloride), poly(dimethylmethyldiaryl ammonium chloride), or poly(diallylmethylammonium phosphate). Filler drying agents include microcrystalline cellulose, amorphous silica, cellulose pulp, silica gel and alumina. 

Uses. The insoluble anhydrite is used in cement formulations and as a paper filler the soluble anhydrite is used as a drying agent the hemihydrate is used for wall plaster and wall-board gypsum is used in manufacture of plaster of paris and portland cement. 

Addition of fillers, thixotropic agents, antioxidants, etc. possible up to 65 wt.%, drying not necessary possible in small quantities (a few wt.%), drying of fillers compulsory... 

Uses Foaming agent emulsifier dispersant for fillers, dry chems. and pigments ... 

Papermaking additives can be categorized either as process additives or as functional additives. Process additives are materials that improve the operation of the paper machine, such as retention and drainage aids, biocides, dispersants, and defoamers they are primarily added at the wet end of the paper machine. Functional additives are materials that enhance or alter specific properties of the paper product, such as fillers (qv), sizing agents, dyes, optical brighteners, and wet- and dry-strength additives they may be added internally or to the surface of the sheet.
