FCCs as Reagents Approach to Highly Substituted Carbo- and Heterocycles

3 FCCs as Reagents Approach to Highly Substituted Carbo- and Heterocycles [Pg.158]

Heteroatom-stabilized FCCs, firstly reported in 1964 [23], are organometaUic species that consist of a hansition metal in low oxidation state, having i-acceptor hgands (CO) and a [Pg.158]

The interaction between the carbene and the metal is dominated by the o-donor component, which leads to a polarization with the positive charge centered in the carbon atom. Consequently, this carbenic carbon atom has an electrophilic character. [Pg.159]

The ability of heteroatom-stabiUzed FCCs to participate in MCRs, principally those based on chromium, was remarkably reviewed in 2005 by Barluenga [25] and later updated [Pg.159]

1 FCCs in MCRs without CO Insertion Many research groups have explored the use of FCCs for the development of new synthetic routes to obtain highly functionalized heterocychc molecules with important biological properties. [Pg.159]
