Father Time

The next painting confronts her with humanity s greatest test—mortality itself. In front of a cave below the temple stands a giant muscular figure of Father Time he is winged and bearded with an hourglass perched on his head and the scythe of death held in his right hand. Thus the substance in its original Black Stage is called "Saturn," and as Saturn is the same as Chronos, ot Time, they often give us the symbol of Father Time, wearing a wooden leg, all of which is significant. 

In mythology, Saturn was originally an Italian corn god. The Romans identified him with the Greek god Kronos, who swallowed his own children and was in turn conquered by them. He s known as Father Time, the symbol of the past and the old order.

Mendeleev is often given most credit lor his fame as the "father of the periodic table" because he predicted elements that wars undiscovered at the time. But Just how impressive were those predictions As for as the elements grfllum, germanium and scandium are concerned, they were quite outstanding—so much so that Mendeleev was evan able to correct some of the initial experimental findings on these new elements. 

The friction cost method (Koopmanschap et al. 1995) assumes that the human capital approach has a tendency to overestimate the indirect household costs. If a worker is seriously sick or dies, his job will be vacant for some time until a new person is hired or trained. However, the loss will not be there for many years. Therefore, the loss of human capital is calculated not until the time of retirement, but until the time of replacement. This approach is correct for unskilled labor in a situation of unemployment. It fits neither to a fully employed economy nor to a subsistence farmer society where there is no substitution of a father who died.
