Fairy ring fungus

Several polyacetylenes have antibiotic properties and some are phytotoxic. Agrocybin (4.105), originally isolated from Agrocybe dura, is also formed by the fairy-ring fungus, Marasmius oreades, and it may be responsible for the death of grass.
