Factorial matrix-type

Precision studies can be planned in a full factorial matrix-type format involving multiple analysts, days, capillaries, buffer preparations, instruments, etc. Table 9 displays an example matrix for intermediate precision testing involving two analysts, two instruments, and two capillaries over a multiple day period. Typically, qualification targets for acceptable precision will be pre-defined based on method type, capability, and intent. Acceptable targets can also be mathematically determined by the method of Horwitz. ... [Pg.388]

Production of blood cells in bone marrow of the central axial skeleton is referred to as medullary hematopoiesis. Hematopoietic tissue in adult bone marrow is well perfused and contains fat cells (adipocytes), and various types of blood and blood precursor cells encased within a protein matrix. Fibroblast, stromal and endothelial cells within bone marrow, serve as sources of matrix proteins as well as a factory for growth factors and chemokines that regulate blood cell production and release matured cells into the circulation [2,3]. Chemokines act as signal lamps for trafficking of lymphocytes in and out of lymphoid tissues. Erythroblasts, neutrophils, lymphoblasts, macrophages, megakaryocytes, and pluripotent stem cells are also found within the calcihed lattice crisscrossing the marrow space. [Pg.128]

Four experimental variables were selected sample pH, primary column type, secondary column type, and methanol concentration. By using each of the four variables at two levels, the complete arrangement of experimental runs became a2X2X2X2or24 factorial design requiring 16 runs. Table I represents the design matrix the high and... [Pg.355]

Adhesion on HLORIN -type fibers, has been studied as a function of five process factors. The names of factors, with their variation levels, are shown in Table 2.32. Matrix 23 of full factorial experiment has been used in constructing random balance matrix. The design matrix by the method of random balance with experimental results is shown in Table 2.33. Note that each design point was repeated 20 to 50 times due to high non reproducibility of the system. [Pg.215]

Contact urticaria from papain has been reported by Baur et al. (1982) in papain workers, and from contact-lens cleansing solutions by Bernstein et al. (1984), Santucci et al. (1985) and Podmore and Storrs (1989). Papain persists in the soft lens matrix despite careful rinsing (Fichman et al. 1978). In a factory manufacturing papain, Baur et al. (1982) reported that 17 of 33 workers developed type-i reactions such as periorbital edema, conjunctival irritation or allergic asthma. [Pg.519]
