Extended Schools Programme

In 1978 this programme of science teaching was extended to all the 206 middle schools of District Hoshangabad. [Pg.11]

Children Challenging Industry project (Parvin, 1999) is a programme that involves primary school children learning science through a realistic industrial context, including an industrial visit. Here the context has deliberately been selected to extend beyond that which is immediately relevant to the child, in order to broaden the child s horizons and perhaps to influence her attitudes, in this case towards industry. Later in this chapter we discuss research into the effects of this programme on children s attitudes towards industry. [Pg.168]
