Disposition in the Body. Rapidly and almost completely absorbed after oral administration. It is metabolised mainly by hydroxy-lation. The major metabolite, 1-hydroxymethyltriazolam, has a hypnotic potency approximately equivalent to that of triazolam. Other metabolites include 4-hydroxytriazolam, 1-hydroxy-methyl-4-hydroxytriazolam, and three dichlorotriazolylbenzo-phenone derivatives.
