For example, in Euphorbiaceae, opposite leaves do occur in some genera (e.g. Excoecaria, some Mallotus spp.) and in other genera the ovary is 1-locular (e.g. Antidesma, some Drypetes spp.) but the combination of opposite leaves and 1-locular ovary does not occur in Euphorbiaceae (as far as I know).
