Lewis acids which differ with respect to their descriptors are projected far from each other in the score plot. A selection of test candidates with different properties can therefore be accomplished by selecting Lewis acids which are plotted far from each other in the score plot. 

The experiments described here, were to test the idea of using the pricipal properties as a criterion for selection.[2] The reactions used were three well-known Lewis acid catalyzed reactions
