( Napra pertains to a therapeutic system.) A particular application of this database is described by Steven Kotler on p. 46 of the January 2005 issue of Wired. A Mayo Clinic researcher named Eric Buenz has been searching old medical textbooks and references for potential pharmaceuticals and treatments. In particular, the Ambronese Herbal is cited, a guide to some 1300 plants used against diseases in seventeenth-century Indonesia, as compiled by employees of the Dutch Indonesia Company. [Pg.32]
