Ethane tetracarboxylic ester

Ethane-tetracarboxylic ester—Ethane-hexacarboxylic ester— Tetracetyl-ethane — Diacetyl-succinic ester — Dimethyl-ethane-tetracarboxylic ester — Diethyl-ethane-tetracar-boxylic ester—Diacetyl-succinic ester.-.42-43... [Pg.14]

Ethane-tetracarboxylic ester from sodium-diethyl-malonic ester. [Pg.63]

This tetra ethyl ester is difficult to hydrolyse the corresponding tetra-methyl ester can, however, be hydrolysed to give ethane tetracarboxylic acid, (HOOC)jCH CH(COOH)j. The latter readily loses 2 molecules of carbon dioxide (on being heated or even on boiling with water) to give succinic acid, HOOCCHjCHjCOOH. [Pg.277]

Ethane tetracarboxylic ethyl ester can be regarded as composed of two malonic ester residues, each acting as a mono-alkyl substituent to the other. The two remaining hydrogen atoms therefore still retain acidic properties, and consequently the ester gives with sodium ethoxide a di-sodium derivative. [Pg.277]

Ethane-tetra-carboxylic Acid Tetraethyl Ester, with iodine, then in 1924 by reducing ethene-tetracarboxylic acid tetraethyl ester witb a seven-fold excess of aluminum amalgam for two hrs at 50—60° in 95% ale (Ref 11)... [Pg.24]

Ethyl ethylenetetracarboxylate has been prepared from monochloro- and monobromomalonic ester through removal of halogen acid with sodium,1 sodium ethylate,2 potassium acetate,3 potassium carbonate,4 sodium urethane, sodium formanilide and sodium acetanilide.6 It has also been prepared by treating the disodium derivative of ethyl ethane-1,1,2,2-tetracarboxylate with bromine,7 or iodine 8 by treating dibromomalonic ester with sodium,9 or sodium ethylate 10 and by treating the disodium derivative of malonic ester with iodine.11... [Pg.38]
