A-iodo esters

More recently, Baciocchi [26a] and Byers [26b] showed that a-iodo esters, a-iodo malonates and a-iodo carbonitriles can be used as radical precursors in the aromatic substitution of various heteroarenes. The perfluoroalkylation of arenes is also possible using the same method [27].
