Equipment required by the Beginner

Condensers, Liebig type, one about 60 cm. long a shorter one, 10-12 cm. long one of the Dimroth or coil type. 

Distilling flasks, ordinary and Claisen types, 25, 50, 100 cc.. one of each. 

Funnels, 2 of smallest size, one each of other sizes up to 12 cm. Cylindrical Buchner funnel, about 8 cm. Dropping funnel, 25 c.c. capacity with short stem and 100 c.c. capacity with long stem. 

Glass rods, 20 of various thicknesses and lengths, rounded at both ends but not thickened. 

Glass tubes, drawn out to form pipettes (dropping tube, p. 12). Glass tubing, straight and bent.
