Equipment for Washing and Deliquoring

Washing can be achieved successfiilly on most batch pressure filters. In this type of equipment the principal potoitial problem is sluicing the fiber cake firom the plates with the wash Equid, which could occur if the cake were sloppy and poorfy formed. 

FEter cakes i ould be imiform in porosity and thickness and riiould have no cracks. A support medium with a fine pore structure will he to obtain a good gas distribution at the cost of some pressure loss.
