Enthalpy-concentration charts construction

Engineering manhours for projects, 2 Enthalpy residual, 158, 159 Enthalpy-concentration chart, 524 application example, 529 construction example, 390... [Pg.749]

At some time in your career, you may find you have to make numerous repetitive material and energy balance calculations on a given binary system and would like to use an enthalpy-concentration chart for the system, but you cannot find one in the literature or in your files. How do you go about constructing such a chart ... [Pg.473]

The construction of an H-x diagram is laborious (McCabe, 1935) and would normally be undertaken only if many calculations were to be performed, e.g. on a system of commercial importance. Nevertheless, once an H-x chart is available its use is simple, and a great deal of information can be obtained rapidly. If the concentration x of one component of a binary mixture is expressed as a mass fraction, the enthalpy is expressed as a number of heat units per unit mass of mixture, e.g. Btulb or Jkg Molar units are less frequently used in crystallizer design practice. [Pg.147]
