An intensive study conducted for the Copper Development Association and reported by Beal [30] reported on two new soldered cup specimens that had been developed to evaluate blooming corrosion effects of solder and soldering parameters using ASTM D 1384 (Corrosion Tests for Engine Coolants in Glassware). Critical examination of the original test revealed wide variations in results in appearance and weight loss so that differences in solder alloy corrosion were difficult to interpret. [Pg.577]
