For small amounts of substances (less then one drop) Emich s (10) method can be applied for boiling-point determination. Devices are also described allowing the determination of boiling points imder reduced pressure (11, 12). The disadvantage of all these methods consists in the fact that the presence of even a small amount of impurity greatly influences the result. It is therefore advisable to combine this determination with a check of purity by gas-liquid chromatography.
