Elementary Processes Involving More Than Four Electrons

ELEMENTARY PROCESSES INVOLVING MORE THAN FOUR ELECTRONS [Pg.437]

In order to study more complicated bond rearrangements, by using the same approach shown in previous sections, one needs to pay attention to the following two points (i) the MCSCF calculation must be performed using an appropriate but limited active space and (ii) to elaborate a comprehensible and reliable analysis it is now very important to exploit the full flexibility of the VB methodologies. At this level in fact, with more than four active electrons, the complexity of the problem does not allow a simple description like that given in the cases discussed so far and proliferation of optimization parameters could lead to a difficult analysis. [Pg.437]
