Likewise, topics such as photocurable adhesives and coatings for the encapsulation of electronic components, for which photopolymerization is just one of the available curing methods, will largely be left for the chapters dealing specifically with these applications. 

The photocuring of coatings is paralleled by high-energy radiation curing (see Section 5.6.4), which does not require initiators rather, the latter process is performed industrially with the aid of fast electrons.
