Online resources such as the eMC (Electronic Medicines Compendium) and the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) have also been referred to when compiling drug profiles. 

Another source is the electronic Medicines Compendium (eMC http //emc.vhn.net/), with electronic versions of data sheets and Summaries of Product Characteristics (SPCs, sometimes also called SmPCs to differentiate them from Supplementary Patent Certihcates) for medicines. It provides the same information as that contained in the latest edition of the Compendium of Data Sheets and SPCs, which covers thousands of medicines licensed in the UK. As an ongoing process, the eMC is also incorporating the SPCs of several thousand other medicines approved by the licensing authorities.

Data sheets and prescribing information for most medicines available in New Zealand are currently published in the New Ethicals Compendium (See Appendix 5). Full text electronic copies of approved data sheets are being published on Medsafe s web site on an ongoing basis. 

Comprehensive Medicinal Chemistry (CMC), Molecular Design Limited, San Leandro, CA 94577. An electronic database version of the Drug Compendium that is Volume 6 of Cow-prehenswe Medicinal Chemistry published by Pergamon Press in March 1990. Contains drugs already on the market.
