Electron-Density Distributions in Some Inorganic Crystals

Electron-Density Distributions in Some Inorganic Crystals [Pg.76]

Single crystal X-ray diffraction measurements have been successfully applied to the observations of electron distributions in a number of inorganic crystals, such as metals, nonmetals, and inorganic salts involving alkali and/or simple ions. Some interesting references are listed in Table V. Because of a limited space available, only results for metals will be discussed here. [Pg.76]

Since Weiss and DeMarco (91) detected the asphericity in charge distribution in vanadium metal, the 3d electron distributions in crystals of V, Cr, and Fe have been studied experimentally as well as theoretically (89). Crystals of V, Cr, and Fe are body-centered cubic at room temperature and under normal pressure. Charge asphericity has [Pg.76]
