Electroinduced reactions

The electroinduced reaction of 2-r-butyl-l-naphthoxide ions in liquid ammonia with aryl chlorides has been reported to give 60-85% yield of 4-aryl-2-r-butyl-l-naphthols259. 

Moreover, the electrode processes of the protonated OMnplexes are shown to involve the following types of electroinduced reactions, which are also discussed anodic N-H, C-H or metal-H heterolytic bond cleavage cathodic N-H, C-H or metal-H homolytic bond rupture anodic nucleophilic attack at the metal anodic ligand isomerization. 

The pyrrolyl-pyridine and -quinoline precursors 1225 have been prepared via an electroinduced SrnI reaction in liquid ammonia by reacting pyrrolyl anions 1223 and the corresponding aryl halides 1224 (pyridyl and quinolyl chlorides) (Scheme 235) <2004S0517>.
