Elastomer blends crystallinity analysis

In the case of PP/POEs blends a good fit between the experimental data and the suggested model was found. The ability of the model in predicting the yield stress of PP/POE blends can be attributed to two facts i) the morphology of the PP matrix was not altered by the addition of the elastomeric phase and ii) the yield stress is insensitive to elastomer particle size [15, 17]. The first feature was demonstrated by DSC analysis (Table 1). Neither the amoimt of heat developed during the melting phase of PP nor the melting peak were influenced by elastomer content in the PP/POE blends. It has been pointed out that the presence of rubber particles in a PP mafrix normally does not affect its crystallinity [18-19]. [Pg.431]
