Effect of exogenous hydrogen

The effect of exogenous hydrogen on succinic acid production observed in sealed serum tubes also was examined in a bench-scale fermenter. Figure 4 compares the results of this experiment and those of a control experiment. In hydrogen experiment, the fermenter was sparged with a 1 1 mixture of CO2 and H2 at 1.2 atm total pressure.
