Ectoparasiticides, uses

Ectoparasiticides used to control flies, ticks and other skin parasites. These fall under the general heading of pesticides (section 1.2 above). 

MAJOR USES Used as an insecticide, acaricide, molluscicide, animal ectoparasiticide used to control lepidoptera, coleoptera, earthworms in turf, pests on animals and poultry used as a growth regulator for fruit thinning used in medical facilities and sewage treatment plants.

The world market size for ectoparasiticides has been estimated to be US 400 million in 1981 with a projected real growth rate of 10-15% annually for the period 1981-1985.
