Echinaster luzonicus

A similar asterosaponin, Ixrzonicoside (929), has been obtained from Echinaster luzonicus (622). It differed from sepositoside A (924) in the nature of the sugar moiety which contained D-galactose, L-arabinose and D-glucuronic acid. Like 924, luzonicoside (929) was accompanied by three minor saponins (930-932) with epoxide functions in three different steroidal side chains. [Pg.286]
