Eastman 910 glue

A special-purpose adhesive that forms an exceedingly strong bond to metals and many other materials, including careless experimenters, is cyanoacrylate contact cement, available as Eastman 910 Adhesive and Super Glue (Woodhill Chemical). It is expensive, but only small amounts are needed. In this cement, the material polymerizes rapidly without an added activator. It is not void filling, and a 0.001 in.-thick film yields the best bond. Do not buy more than you will need in a few months since it slowly deteriorates store in the refrigerator.

The commercial success of cyanoacrylates as glues was assured in 1959 when Harry Coover appeared on the television show l i/e Cot a Secret and used the product to lift host Cary Moore off the floor with a single drop of Eastman Kodak s Super Glue . 

Samples are supported with cardboard frames, cut in a C or oval donut shape, placed under the fibers and glued to the frame with Elmer s white glue or Eastman 910 fast drying glue. 

Cyanoacrylates are extremely rapid curing adhesives known as instant adhesive or Super glue. These adhesives were discovered by accident by Dr Harry Coover s group at Eastman Chemical Company while doing some basic research on characterizing certain polymers derived from a chemical called ethylene.
