Eastman Chemical isobutyraldehyde

Over the years a variety of uses have been found for the isobutyraldehyde by Eastman Chemical and others.219 It is converted to isobutyl alcohol, neopentyl glycol, isobutyl acetate, isobutyric acid, isobutylidenediurea, methyli-soamyl ketone, and various hydrogenation and esterification products (1.22). 

The checkers employed isobutyraldehyde from Eastman Organic Chemicals. The aldehyde, b.p. 62-63°, was freshly distilled from a few milligrams of p-toluenesulfonic acid.
