Dynamic range desorption/ionization

For analytes with unknown ionization/desorption properties, typically pilot runs at various sample amounts are recommended that determine the dynamic range of MALDI-TOF detection from TLC plates. Typical application volumes are between 2 and 10 pL/band. Drying of the start zones follows, for example, on a TLC plate heater set at 60°C for 1 min.
