DuPont Growing Sustainably

Incorporating sustainability into a company s business strategy can be daunting. To be sure, it is an inherently complex concept. One may easily come up with an endless list of economic, environmental, and societal needs and concerns that should be addressed. Thus, in constmcting a sustainability strategy, it is imperative that a company understands what sustainability means specifically to it and recognizes the most relevant aspects of sustainability.

In 2000, sustainable growth was adopted as DuPont s official mission. Since then, it has been regarded as the company s core strategy and direction. The sustainable growth strategy is further organized into three strategic pathways (Holliday, 2001)
