Double salts, transference numbers

As mentioned above, the most common way of initiating the cationic pol5merization is the attachment of proton to the double carbon bond. There is a number of other ways to initiate this reaction. They include polymerization in the presence of diazonium salts, charge transfer complexes and catalyzed by metal salts in a heterogeneous system.
