Double critical endpoint

The immiscibility regions of type b and d spreading from the binary subsystems are terminated by one nonvariant point in ternary systems (the double critical endpoint HN (Li = L2-G) and the tricritical point RN (Li = L2 = G), respectively). Disappearance of the immiscibility region of type c takes place only after transformation (through the tricritical or double critical points) into immiscibility region of type b or d.

A double critical point (DCP) represents an endpoint of an UCST and LCST line of critical points. The LCST critical line is observed over a Umited diblock concentration of about 1%. This means that the homogeneous phases above and below the two-phase regime must represent different phases, as the compatibility is achieved by, respectively, the entropic and enthalpic term of the Gibbs free energy of mixing the SANS experiments show that the homogeneous phase at lower temperature is represented by a droplet microemulsion phase which must represent a more ordered state than the other two phases at higher temperature. 

Nervous system The residual effects of gaboxadol 10 mg and flurazepam 30 mg on the day after bedtime administration have been compared in a crossover, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controUed study in 25 healthy elderly subjects [16. Flurazepam significantly impaired choice reaction time, the threshold for critical flicker fusion, digit symbol substitution, and speed of compensatory tracking, but did not alter immediate or delayed word recall or the eyes-closed endpoint of the body sway test. Gaboxadol had no deleterious effects.
