The [W40 6 Ru(p-cymene) 4] complex evolves in MeCN to yield a nnprecedented double-cubane species [W20io Ru(p-cymene) 4], and in water to yield a dodecametallic species [Wg028(0H)2 Ru(p-cymene) 2 Ru(p-cymene)(H20) 2] . The later can be viewed as composed of two W3RUO4 cubes linked by two W02 units and supporting each a Ru(/ -cymene) fragment, which coordination sphere is further completed by a water molecule.
