Distribution Functions MDF in the Grand Canonical Ensemble

MOLECULAR DISTRIBUTION FUNCTIONS (MDF) IN THE GRAND CANONICAL ENSEMBLE [Pg.78]

We recall that the probability of finding a system in the T, F, p, ensemble with exactly N particles is (Section 1.5) [Pg.78]

The conditional nth-order MDF of finding the configuration given that the system has N particles, is [Pg.78]

Clearly, this quantity is defined for n IV only. The nth-order MDF in the T, V, ensemble is defined as the average of (2.119) with the weight given in (2.118), i.e.. [Pg.78]

The normalization condition for g (X ) is obtained from (2.120) by integrating over all the configurations X  [Pg.79]
