10 Internuclear Distance. Bond Angle. Mean Amplitudes of Vibration 

A bent structure (C2v symmetry), predicted by the Walsh rules [1], was obtained by experimental and theoretical studies (see also pp. 232/4). 

The earlier values r(N-F) = 1.37 A (taken from NF3) and a = 104.2° (consistent with the rotational structure of the band in the IR spectrum of gaseous NFg) [5] were often quoted and used for numerous calculations of NF2 molecular properties (see Tables, p. 234).
