Disaccharides with Anomalous Linking.—Several compounds have been described which have two sugar units linked by groupings other than simple glycosidic bonds. These are collected in this section which is used for first time in this volume. The bonds may be between the two anomeric centres and thus the products are analogues of non-reducing disaccharides, between one anomeric centre and a non-anomeric centre, and between two non-anomeric centres. These will be considered in turn. [Pg.42]
