Diphosphate, tetraammonium

Tetraammonium diphosphate loses ammonia slowly and changes to (NH4)3HP207 in dry air and to (NH4)3HP207 H20 in moist air.11 In dilute solution, it hydrolyzes by a first-order reaction to phosphate.12 The rate of hydrolysis is slow in neutral and weakly basic solutions but increases with increasing acidity of the solution. Tetraammonium diphosphate is converted to both anhydrous and hydrated di- or triammonium acid salts by dissolving it in water, adjusting to the proper pH and temperature, and adding ethanol to induce crystallization.11... [Pg.159]
