In exploring reactions with 3,4-diphenylfuran-2-ones, Rio and Serkiz synthesized 3,4-diphenyl-3-pyrrolin-2-ones from 3,4-diphenylfuran-2-one and ammonium acetate in benzene within a sealed tube (1976MI1).
