Addition of a fluorescer, such as the easily oxidised dihydro-dibenzo-[a, c]-phenazine gives a much enhanced light yield and the reaction then has much in common with the mechanism proposed by Linschitz for ZnTPP activated luminescence reactions previously discussed.
