Diethyl ether uranyl nitrate complex

Even earlier, in 1842, P61igot had observed that uranyl nitrate readily dissolves in diethyl ether with the formation of the neutral complex [U02(N03)2(ether)2] 100 years later this phenomenon was the basis for the refinement of uranium for the Manhattan Project.
