Diethyl ACETAMIDE

Acetyl bromide in ether added drop-wise with swirling during 30 min. to 4-dimethylamino - 3 - diethylaminomethyl -toluene in ether, and allowed to stand 24 hrs. at room temp. N,N-diethyl-acetamide (Y 74%) and 4-dimethyl-amino-3-bromomethyltoluene (Y 56%). (93, 1310.) F. e., also isolation of quaternary salts. [Pg.150]
