Dietary ceruloplasmin deficiency

Several well-controlled dietary deprivation studies have demonstrated the utility of the clinical laboratory in providing measures of copper status. For example, plasma copper and ceruloplasmin assays are convenient and widely used to confirm severe copper deficiency. However, they are not sensitive indicators in marginal copper depletion.
