2,3-Dibromobutanes, dehalogenation

Castro, C.E. and Belser, N.O. Biodehalogenation. Reductive dehalogenation of the biocides ethylene dibromide, l,2-dibromo-3-chloropropane, and 2,3-dibromobutane in soil, Environ. Sci. Technoi, 2(10) 779-783, 1968. 

Show that the dehalogenation of 2,3-dibromobutane by iodide ion is stereospecific by showing that the two diastereomers of the starting material give different diastereomers of the product.
