Diazo 2,6-diisopropylphenyl ester

Tang and co-workers developed a highly efficient protocol to construct chiral tetrasubstituted 2,3-dihydrofuran derivatives in good yield with high stereoselectivity via Cu(I)/side-armed inbox-catalyzed asymmetric [4+1] cycloaddition of a-benzylidene-p-ketoesters with a diazo 2,6-diisopropylphenyl ester (Scheme 34) [59].
