Diarylmercurials reactions with aryl iodides

Diarylmercurials, Ar2Hg, undergo the palladium-catalysed cross-coupling reactions with aryl halides, preferably iodides, to give biaryls in high yields. Scheme 36. [Pg.119]

The diarylmercurials prepared by any of these reactions are the most efficiently coupled with aryl iodides in the presence of a catalytic amount (1 mol%) of aryl(diphenylphosphino)palladium(II) iodides to give the corresponding biaiyls in good to excellent yields under very mild reaction conditions. This method was developed by Beletskaya s group [138], Table 12. [Pg.120]
