Diacetylenes lattice packing

Much work remains to be done to improve the large-scale order of the initial monolayer, and this could conceivably be achieved either by discovering the conditions for reproducible monomodal anisotropic deposition or by finding a lattice-matched inorganic substrate. It will also be necessary to determine which of the possible packing schemes leads to the best polymerisation of diacetylenes, and how best to achieve it.
