Phosphinic acid amides. Bromine in light petroleum (b. p. 40-60°) added to a well-stirred slurry of di-n-octylphosphine oxide in the same solvent, then n-butylamine in light petroleum added, refluxed 2 hrs., and allowed to stand overnight at room temp.
